NO CONTRA DANCE IN JULY OR AUGUST 2011
Since we have not been able to find a suitable venue yet, we will not be putting on a dance in July or August.
MIDTOWN CLOSING 6/30
We have confirmation that Midtown Community Center will close June 30th.
If we can find a place to dance for July, we want to hold the dance, even if we have to change which Saturday.
We are open to paying more than our normal $100 for this one time, if we must.
One person, Lynn Young, has been actively researching the availability of venues for us, but we have nothing solid at this time.
We will keep looking for a hall, and we would still appreciate your help in doing so.
It would be most helpful if you give us more than suggestions- we need YOU to actually find out if a place is available for a regular monthly Saturday night event (first, second or third Saturday).
We need to know how much it costs (must be $100, or less, if possible) and if there are deposits required, etc.
It can be wood floor, or tile, but NOT carpet. It must have air conditioning.
We are hoping to get a letter of recommendation from Jo Bogan, director at Midtown, to show our group to have been responsible renters, and to show we have been allowed to hold keys and open and lock up ourselves.
We will let you all know what we find out, as soon as we can.
Please contact any other dancers you might know, and make sure they know what is going on. Thank you for supporting our dance- we truly hope to continue, if we can.
The 2011 schedule will be put back up on this website once we have a venue.
